Fun with Hiccups

Will and I just happened to have the hiccups at the same time the other day. He was being so cute, and then I realized there was more going on than I thought. He was laughing after each of my hiccups! We had to get it on video. Here's the highlights. Enjoy!

Mr. Sandman is Creepin' Me Out

Crying babies waking you up every 2-3 hours does something weird to your dreams. They become more vivid and memorable and just strange.

Memory of dreams don't last very long, and we're usually left with a vague impression of what it was all about.

All I remember is that I was being stalked by creepy old men. I would be talking to a friend, and then turn my head to see a creepy old man leer at me and say...



I didn't even know where the "mahna mahna" phrase came from before my dream. The most random things and people show up in my dreams. What is the point of dreams? Just to entertain us while our body recharges? Is it our brain's way of processing all the random information we pick up? Possibly a glimpse into our true feelings and self?
Well, maybe this Muppet will be in your dreams tonight. :)

Lately

I blame my lack of posting on the nice faux-summer weather we've been having. I realized that we're not taking advantage of the great things to see and do in this area. It seems like having guests visit is the only way to get myself to explore my own backyard. So we have vowed to plan more trips and activities while we live here.
We took Will to the beach for the first time on Saturday. I heard about this cliff side trail at Half Moon Bay. Better to do this one before Will can walk! I think it's about a 100 ft. drop down to the beach. That didn't stop me from getting way too close to the edge myself for this shot!
The breeze was even warm!
Will got his first experience touching beach sand. He can touch playground sand anytime he wants to.
Later that day we visited our friends Matt and Sarah. Britton went to high school with Matt. They are only here for a limited time which also helps us to get out of the house and take advantage of our time with them. And take advantage we did! Unfortunately there were no pizza pockets, but we had a pasta dinner with them and this amazing chocolate/caramel apple, and we got to play with their cute little girl.
I don't have any pictures of what we did the rest of the weekend, but I have a feeling they'll be on Facebook soon. I wasn't sure if I should bother putting the beach pictures on here because it seems that everyone and their mom (literally) is on Facebook now.

Now that's it's cooler weather, here's the indoor activities I'm looking forward to.

1. Japanese class! (It starts today!)
2. Hanging out with my neighbor and Will's newborn friend Gabe!
3. Getting into some sewing projects. I really want to make my own diaper bag. That neon green on the Kaiser bag just isn't cutting it anymore.
4. Doing my best to decorate the house.
5. Sunday Fun Day with the neighbors:)
6. 24 Night with some people from church.
7. Getting into "couponing" check out the coupon queen's tutorial
8. Watching Will roll around
9. Blogging of course
10. I just wanted it to be a nice, even 10

He rolls, he laughs, he swings...it's the new and improved baby Will

Time is flying! (Well, except for the middle of the day when Britton's gone and I'm tired.) Will has reached all kinds of milestones.

#1. Rolling
He can do a back to front roll in less than 5 seconds. I forgot that one time when he was on a bench, and I felt REALLY bad when I turned around to find him on the floor. Luckily babies heal fast. (And they won't remember it. Unless someone keeps this blog to show him one day. d'oh!)
#2. Laughing
Hearing him laugh is the best! He sometimes sounds like a donkey, but most of the time it's a cute baby squeal. Over the holidays he especially liked laughing when Aunt Erin smooched the top of his head, and when Aunt Clare just acted weird.


#3. Swinging
I finally have a reason to use the playground in our backyard! And we've had the best weather for it lately too--almost 70 degrees and sunny! Time to meet some more neighbors...finally.

I successfully navigated a new insurance and doctor's office, and Will had his 4 month check-up not too late. The results are not surprising. He is average for height, and still well above average for weight. The rolls don't lie. We like to call that middle roll the "Colver roll" in honor of the original Obeseius Maximus.

A New Bob's in Town

Move over Katie Holmes and eat my bob. I guess it's considered a long bob. I had 7 inches cut off, and am feeling great! What is it with moms and short hair? I'm not sure, but I just couldn't help myself.

Funniest Christmas Present Ever*

I had a lot more time than usual to prepare for Christmas this year, and I'm very pleased with the fruits of our labors. For Kelsey we got surfing lessons which is way better than the traditional, boring Bath and Body Works stuff we got her last year. We used our Mac to create personalized calendars for both of our families, and Britton used Garage Band to create Alex's own theme song in both digital and sheet music forms:) It's called Ageyx-a-ma-fo. It's straight from Britton's crazy mind. Many a weird and spontaneous song has been created there. I was going to put the video up of us dancing to it Christmas morning, but it's a little too embarassing for the blog world. So here's a picture of people laughing. Email me if you'd like to see the video and I'll consider sending it to you. Also, feel free to make up your own dance and share it with us. Don't worry, we know a mere song isn't going to cut it for Christmas presents so Britton also got Alex some fishing lures and taught him how to fish with lures the next morning.

*Funniest Christmas present to me at least. Probably not as funny to people who don't know Britton, have never heard him make up weird songs, or hate techno music.
