Thanks to everyone for their input about spider killing. It seems that I can pretty much always count on someone else to kill the spider for me. I will continue to be a spider wimp unless I'm alone, and even then I can probably wait for Britton to come home. Above is a picture I took of a huge, nasty spider in Nagasaki, Japan. They were in all kinds of hallways outside people's apartments and I could hardly stand to walk near them! My Japanese companions didn't pay any attention to them.
